Purpose of The Orry Mill
The Orry Mill was started in 2018, partly as reaction to how both Thilde (my wife) and I had ended up in coporate roles, after having artistic focussed education. Partly it was also to build something that was ours. Profit and Ambition was at least in a capitalist sense, low, but not completely forgotton. The point was to build something that was sustainable and served the community.
Orry Yarn is our latest project
Orry Yarn is our own brand that we have developed from scratch with support from Laxtons Yarn in Yorkshire. It is a 100% merino yarn which will be accompanied by 15 patterns designed by Thilde. There will also be an LMS (Thinkific) branded platform that will host a series of learn to knit videos and technique support for each pattern. It will also serve as feedback and community support to our customers.
